Pros

Best place to work if you are interested in the nuclear industry. Good benefits. Excellent cafeteria. Company is moving to a new location (Cranberry) that is a nice area. Senior management is very focused on delivering new plants.

Cons

The young workforce is inexperienced. There is alot of pressure to meet schedule and budget. Steep learning curve for the procedures and processes used if not from the nuclear industry. The departements within westinghouse do not seem to work well together sometimes.

Pros

As a technical person, one is working with the world's leading commercial nuclear technology. This experience is very valuable within the nuclear industry no matter what career path is taken. There are plenty of opportunities for mobility within the company, and managers can't block a transfer to a different department after 18 months of employment.

Cons

The technical roles are often undervalued by management. There is a shortage of technical analysts, so they are encouraged to stay in the same role while receiving minimal progression in compensation as a group. The compensation pool assigned for the department as a whole is often barely in line with or just below inflation.
