Excuse for everything is "well, this is a start up." That's not a good reason to not accomplish basic things that should have been set up in the beginning.
There is no path towards profitability. The COO's only strategy is to lay off employees. He'd rather lose good people than come up with a practical way to increase revenue. Lots of poor decisions that cost the company money, despite warnings from employees on the ground.
