Just bad

Pros

My personal team and manager were good, but that's about it.

Cons

1. No strategy. Zero. I tried to ask leadership about direction and it was slow to come and then vague. When asking for business justification for changes, my internal clients would go over my head. 2. They tolerate bullying. One individual I know was bullied. HR confirmed that the individual had a history of doing it and was warned, but they are still there and still bullying. The person they bullied is gone. 3. Lots of recent layoffs. I think there have been 5 rounds in the last 1.5 years. 4. Low pay, not the best benefits. Usually if the pay is low, the benefits are better. Not the case here.

Thank you for sharing your feedback about your experience at Wiley. We appreciate feedback both in terms of positive aspects and areas where we can improve. We're glad to hear that you had a positive experience with your team and manager, Wiley has always prided itself on the community of our colleagues. We agree that strategy development and communication are essential for the success of any organization. That is a driving factor behind our CEO recently sharing that we are focused on simplifying our organization and that we will lean into our strength as a global "Knowledge Company". We will remain committed to helping employees have a clear understanding of the company's strategy. We are deeply concerned to hear about an individual you know who experienced bullying. We have zero tolerance for such behavior and take all reports of bullying seriously. Our policies and processes ensure that incidents of bullying are addressed promptly and effectively to maintain a safe and respectful work environment. If the individual is still an employee at Wiley, please tell them to reach out to their People Business Partner right away. Regarding your compensation feedback, we are committed to delivering competitive, equitable pay to help attract and retain top talent. We are proud of our forward-leaning approach to pay transparency to help us close existing pay gaps and to help colleagues champion their careers. Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. We appreciate your contribution and wish you the best in your future endeavors.

Avoid, company going downhill fast!

Pros

Nothing. They will just constantly move people around and promise the world but not deliver.

Cons

The company just recently decided to sell half of their business units and are not doing well. Even people that were not in these particular departments are being laid off with no explanations other than "consolidation" when just a week before we were told that specific business units were "holding their own". Wiley supposedly prides itself on supporting their employees. In my multiple years of working there I was never supported or provided what I was supposed to have been and then when it comes to bonus and merit increase time, we were only given a small percentage of what was promised earlier in the year and what market guidelines are. No opportunities for advancement or positions to better align with someone's career goals or past experience. Pathetic excuse for executive leadership and I would not recommend this company to anyone job hunting.

We respect your concerns and take this type of feedback seriously. We understand that change can be challenging, and we acknowledge that it may have caused uncertainty and frustration among employees, even those not directly impacted. Our CEO recently shared that we are focused on simplifying our organization and that we will lean into our strength as a global "Knowledge Company". This simplification unfortunately requires tough business decisions. Pros

Great teammates and leadership with yearly merit raises.

Cons

Minimum room for advancement and you won't get promoted unless you know someone. Some positions are "already" allocated during interview.
