Pros

1. Location is convenient - If you live in NJ, their location is great unlike other publishers who are based in NY. 2. Vacation days and tuition benefits ( subject to manager approval)

Cons

1. The pay is very less even for entry level positions. I've seen PhDs work for less than 70K. 2. No flexibility - Flexible working arrangements such as working from home even for one or two days a week is not available. 3. The rules and structure vary between teams. Some managers are partial and special treatment is given to their close buddies

Times of change are often difficult to navigate and can test even the most patient of employees. The goal is to meet the needs of a changing industry as efficiently as possible, however, it seems as if its caused some disruption for your time at Wiley. I apologize but please know that the goal is to continue to be a positive force in the industry.

Pros

People are smart and, for the most part, hard-working. A real global flavor - it is good to work with people in other locations. Research and education matter; it is good to contribute. There is a tenacious vibe and a determination to get through to the other side of the digital transformation, even though it poses ongoing business challenges, abd Wiley's natural culture is not really transformative.

Cons

As others have noticed, the internal systems are quite poor. Wiley has invested in the past few years in improving some of them, such as adding salesforce, Eloqua, and others, but the home-grown systems are just awful.
