Poor senior management and pay, great time off & benefits

Pros

Good time off benefits Some very good colleagues

Cons

Bad Structure - A string of unsuccessful restructures. A lack of accountability from the senior management team. Some very dysfunctional directors & VPs being promoted and enabled. Senior management does not want constructive feedback or input, only sycophantic support. Effective teams are reduced in size (or kept the same with an increase in work), ineffective teams as expanded. More likely than not, if you are joining a research or marketing team, you are taking over more than one role that was never backfilled. Very low pay - expect $40-50k for junior roles, $60-75k for mid-level roles (including management of people) and $90+ for 'senior management roles. For the UK, expect £28-35 for junior roles, £40-60 for mid-level roles, and £65+ for senior management roles. Inconsistent rules for pay that are secretive and act as 'blockers' around promotions. Poor management is swept under the rug or sometimes rewarded.

Pros

people and managers are nice. flexible hours, work environment can be very relaxing.

Cons

Wiley does not value loyalty. Years back, there were many long term and competent employees, the company did not like to promote and help these people to grow. not a good place to entrust your loyalty.
