Pros

solid support staff and technology services. Overall well managed with opportunities for partner track if you stay long enough.

Cons

A large firm so the environment is very bland and corporate. You typically only interact with those in your practice group. Billing is top priority and managment will constantly remind you of this fact.

Pros

Free coffee, Lots of interesting characters, free pizza when staff risks their lives to make it to office.

Cons

Horrible management. Women should expect to be treated like object or be ok with meat market environment. . All forms of harrassment ignored by hr/management. Worse yet, victim of harrassment blamed for the harrassment. Only concerned with lining their pockets and stealing hard earned PTO from staff. Ignorance and bigotry galore. Support staff expected to not think.. Just do.. Outdated technology. Backward thinking all around

Pros

Wilson Elser offers an excellent opportunity to gain professional experience if you: a) have recently obtained your bachelors degree and wish gain legal experience before deciding on applying to law school, or b) wish to have a career as a paralegal but do not yet much professional experience. Your experience will vary significantly based on which practice group you work with. If you are put in with a good practice group, you can have a very positive experience.

Cons

There is limited room for growth as a paralegal, ie there was no opportunity to be promoted to a more senior position after several years on the job. It seems that the firm prefers to hire entry level paralegals, allow them to leave after a few years (due to lack of incentive to stay because of limited room for growth), then replace them with new entry level paralegals. The constant turnover can make the work environment hectic.
