If you have strong self initiative you can potentially hone your Linux skill set. Key word here: self inititiati

Cons

Understaffed. Inconsistent company policies. No standards for admin procedures. 12 hour work shift with 30 minute break expectation. Poor compensation and benefits. Understaffed. Zero visibility on changes in software environment. Poor training. Excessively high turnover rate. Revolving door hiring practice. Unpredictable and erratic employee terminations. Very stressful.

Pros

Technical experience was GREAT. Also it's great exposure to an industry that is rather cutthroat and can help with a lot of tangential industries.

Cons

The management was disorganized, unprofessional, and occasionally cruel. I was literally afraid of one of the senior managers because of his demonstrated instabilities towards others. While there are a few good eggs -- no, GREAT eggs -- the ones in power are abusive and have no clue as to how to manage or even get along with people. The strongest people I worked with all have since left the company.

Pros

The company offers young people who may not have the credentials on their resume opportunities which is very great in some scenarios. I had no problems with most of the staff however how certain people treated me left a nasty taste in my mouth.

Cons

The pro can be a very good thing for smart people but it can also be a burden on the rest of the hard working staff.
