Pros
Kept me employed throughout the worst of the pandemic when so many were losing their jobs.
Cons
I've never felt as unseen and unheard as I have in my current position at Wood. Upper management treats me as an afterthought if I'm thought of at all. The fact is this nobody does a lot of the grunt work that keeps my department going (tracking down proper signatures for legal documents, ensuring the correct approval process is followed for audit purposes, etc. Nothing glamorous, but definitely essential), and yet I'm not invited to my own department staff meetings, emails where I'm asking a question or needing direction go unanswered, and on and on (basically death by 1K cuts). To add further insult to injury, there's an upcoming meeting about an initiative to increase the number of women in senior management and I'm suddenly -- yet no doubt temporarily -- relevant. The hardest of passes. I'm tired. I'm numb. I'm done.
