A Tarnished History

Pros

It is a job, you get a discount at the cafeteria.

Cons

I just started working here at Wood Plc and cannot believe the amount of confusion and apathy around here. The AMFoster acquistion doesnt help either with major redundacnies going on and just general cluelessness of what is going around. Communciation is poor and people just dont seem to care partly because of the acquisition and waiting to see what happens. Alot of fearful people and way too much upper management. People are always saying things were better before but after some reasearch there have been some major scandals inlcuding Unaoil, Clean Water Act GoM, and Brandon Stephens so not really sure if that is the case. I try to stay positive but they company just cant seem to get its act together. Very unprofessional people who are incompetence, dont care, or spiteful. People are just here to collect a paycheck and retire. Benefits expensive and confusing, pay is slightly below market. There are a few good people but many are leaving and or trying to get out. The Company is quite disorganized and even competes with itself in certain areas. I really do not understand how this place turns a profit.

Sinking ship

Pros

Cafeteria, coffee shop, most of the co-workers

Cons

I worked at Wood for 12 yrs and saw a lot of changes most of which have been negative. There are WAY too many upper managers/directors/VPs the majority of whom do nothing or are incompetent. NO training. Outsourcing IT to IBM. Sexual harassment claims to HR are NOT confidential - they tell the harasser everything. No promotions if you are female, a minority, or non-British (preferably Scottish). Morale is in the toilet. Mustang Engineering used to have a Servant Leadership culture where the people came first. Not anymore. What a waste...it used to be such a great company.

Pros

The heating and air conditioning systems work well. Most of the people I work with are friendly.

Cons

Unjustified demotions, confusion over who is in charge of what, turf wars over who gets credit for new work (counterproductive, to say the least), and little evidence that employees are valued.
