Hello and thank you for taking the time to post a review after you have left EW.
It is great to hear that you valued the working environment and great people we have here, we really try to make this a brilliant place to work for everyone. It’s also good to hear that the LDC investment that has brought so much change is being viewed as the amazing opportunity we think it is. We have valued the energy and enthusiasm our colleagues have put into growing the business since the investment and hope to continue to deliver greater opportunities in the future for all.
In relation to constructive advice, we are always happy to get feedback. In the recent Investors in People audit we were given a silver award overall for our efforts in making EW a great place to work but specifically in the ‘leading and inspiring people’ section, we were awarded a gold standard! This demonstrates our commitment and efforts from the management team to developing a clear leadership structure that supports all colleagues. This award is given based on multiple interviews with randomly selected colleagues throughout the organisation and while from your comments it is understood that you may not feel the management team is doing well in supporting colleagues and communicating with them, we hope it is a minority view. We will continue with our efforts to gain feedback from our colleagues and if communication and management issues arise we will double efforts to improve in these areas.
At our Ops Board level we have 7 men and 2 women which is definitely something we want to work on as we move forward. To that end, the next level down in the management hierarchy (Senior Leadership Team) does have a 50 / 50 split of male and female leaders in the organisation. During our recent future leaders programme intake we took 8 colleagues on to provide them with leadership development opportunities which again maintained this 50 / 50 split. Diversity concerns aren’t something that can be changed overnight but we are committed to providing great opportunities to all who have the potential at EW.
Finally we understand car parking is always a contentious issue, we are in a great position to be able to provide free parking to all colleague at the Aldford site but to make sure we are able to fit everyone in we need to organise ourselves quite rigidly. While a less stringent approach would make for easier conversations it could potentially also mean not having enough space for everyone to park in each day. To support these issues we have recently looked to apply for planning permission to improve the car parking suitability on site which we aim to complete by the summer of 2018.
We genuinely feel colleagues are proud to work at EW and will continue to make this a measure of our success as an organisation.
Thank you again for taking the time to leave your review and best of luck in your future endeavours.
