Do yourself a favor, don't work here

Pros

The people outside of senior leadership are fantastic. It can be a very collaborative environment which was the best part about working here. The office itself in Framingham is nice but probably too big for the size of the company. Lot of empty desks. They do have good food and some decent snacks. The fact that you can recognize and reward the goodness you see is awesome and was probably my favorite part about working there. Knowing that I could recognize all the good work I was seeing was awesome! I will also add that at its core, the product is a good one--and I would argue that it's better than the other reward and recognition platforms out there.

Cons

Leadership. Something needs to change. The sales team is an absolute nightmare, run by the smallest man who ever lived. In all honesty with his approach, they might as well get rid of everybody else in sales and just let him do it since he believes he can do everybody's job better than they can anyway. Complete fraud who claims he wants feedback and input but absolutely does not. His way or the highway. Something needs to change as the company has not performed well on the sales side for years. Folks get laid off year after year with numbers slipping but it's baffling that this person is still in charge. The lack of humanity displayed by senior leadership at a company with the word 'human' in its title is sickening. What this person says about others who work for him behind closed doors is appalling. You ultimately mean nothing to him but he'll keep you close when it's beneficial to him. This is not inclusive of front line managers who do their best to help their AE's. This is for the people above them who don't allow them to shine or thrive. This is for those people who push the good folks down and make the place a complete nightmare to work at. Time to look in the mirror.

Severe Burnout, Poor Work-Life Balance, Culture Crisis

Pros

1)The people you work with are supportive, collaborative, and make the day-to-day work environment positive and engaging. 2)In the past, there were developers who were genuinely passionate about the product, actively contributing through hackathons and innovative efforts. Unfortunately, many of these passionate developers have since left, and the current product enthusiasm has noticeably declined.

Cons

Workhuman does not operate like a typical tech company; best practices are largely ignored, leading to systemic failures and broken processes across every department. 1)There is no true day off—during PTO, employees are inundated with Slack/Teams messages and an overwhelming inbox of emails, making work-life balance impossible. 2)Unrealistic workloads are common, with many employees performing duties far outside their roles. I have witnessed several colleagues break down emotionally during meetings, and there is an apparent culture of gaslighting where unpaid overtime and working long hours are normalized. 3)Most employees are burned out, carrying extra work due to layoffs and understaffing. Morale is very low. Ironically, a meeting on burnout was scheduled but few employees could attend due to workload pressures. 4)The company culture feels morally compromised, with frequent requests to lie to clients or distribute false information from leadership. 5)Workhuman is currently losing significant business to competitors and seems desperate. Sales often promise solutions that are unrealistic for the company to deliver.

Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective. We’re truly sorry that your experience has felt challenging, and we appreciate you raising it. We care deeply about our human-centric culture, and that commitment guides how we show up for our people every day. Investing in the employee experience isn’t just important to our business; it’s simply the right thing to do. Managing workloads and communication is always top of mind, and we genuinely want everyone to feel they can step away and fully disconnect when taking PTO. We’ll continue to reinforce this expectation across teams. As part of that commitment to our culture, we’re investing in clearer structures, stronger processes, and better support across departments. Our goal is to continue building a workplace grounded in trust, engagement, and care.
