Pros

My journey to and at Workhuman has been one of the most fulfilling highlights of my life. From 2002 to 2020 when Covid hit, I was a Monday thru Friday 8-5pm worker. It was the standard and the way. Covid made me evolve into a remote worker and people leader. I made the most of it while at a Top HR Tech leader and then building a new team at a Tech start up. But as I learned fully remote was just going to be the new way where I was with no office on the horizon, I couldn’t do it any longer. I needed that Monday thru Friday and 9-5 back for my mental health. I found Workhuman thru a connection and just fell in love with the people, the platform, the potential future and impact I could make and of course the gorgeous office. I remember on my in-person interview – our awesome recruiter gave me a tour and my constant compliments made her happy but she also said there’s a new office in the works for 6 months out that will be even better. SIGN ME UP! Every day I get to drive into the best office I’ve ever stepped foot in with over-the-top frills from the perfect café, to the gym, to the open concept workspaces where I can do my best work and collaborate with my team…and double tapping into that…working with the kindest and smartest people. I’m partial to my team being the best but the cross collaboration with other departments is wonderful as is just the organic socialness around the office. The leadership is top notch. I’m a manager level employee and I’ve had personal and professional conversations with VP and Chief level execs here. They ask about my life – they ask about business opinions. I feel truly seen and supported. If you’re on here looking to join us – you should. If you’re here as a prospect client to potentially partner with us so you can do Recognition RIGHT for your people – DO IT! It’s the best platform, the best company and the best people. I love this place. It’s my Disney World of workplaces.

Pros

My colleagues who keep me sane every day

Cons

This company has become the most toxic environment I have ever worked in. Leadership, especially Eric and his C-suite, are the mean high school clique who terrorize employees into submission. Eric walks through the office without so much as a hello or smile to the people who are working extremely hard for his company. Every quarterly meeting is a new roadmap where teams need to stop what we were told to focus on last quarter to the newest and greatest idea. The product could be great, outside of the fact that new features that are not implemented properly are sold to capture new clients. Major business has been lost due to this problem. The new office is a joke. There are lots of benefits to entice new employees and keep present employees happy. However, it is way too large for the number of employees so it feels cavernous and sad. Workhuman preaches eliminating performance reviews. Yet we are required to write about our work and how we can improve. The worst part of this is when managers give an employee a "exceeding expectations " the HR department will negate it and rate the employee as "meeting expectations" without so much as a conversation with the manager. But the best part is there is band! Yes, a musical band comprised of employees titled HR Violations. The irony is lost on Eric and his c-suite but is a constant running joke amongst employees. I don't see any upsides to working here outside of my amazing colleagues who work too hard for a company that doesn't value their efforts. This is not the place to work if you want to have a meaningful career. This place is a dumpster fire every day!

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We recognize that periods of change can feel challenging, and we understand how that can contribute to a more stressful experience for some employees. We would respectfully disagree with the characterization of our industry and business. The need for recognition, connection, and belonging at work remains strong and as AI continues to reshape how work gets done, we believe the human side of work is becoming more important, not less. We also maintain customer retention rates in the high 90%'s, reflecting the value many organizations continue to see in our partnership. As our business matures, we're focused on becoming stronger, more scalable, and better positioned for the future. We appreciate your perspective and wish you success in your next chapter.
