Pros

- Very elegant working facilities - Networking with companies CEOs, public authorities, etc - Salary - and free coffee all day long - status

Cons

- Very competitive and political environment - Positions given away on the basis of friendships and political favours rather than on competencies - lack of transparency in the decision making process - Rigid working environment. In other words, you cannot really participate in other projects apart from your official activities - you basically have to convince companies to pay a 150.000 CH fee to have a "chair" at the WEF conferences. Honestly, an 5bl US dollars companies does not need the WEF for networking, they only need to pick up their phones or send an email. - In sum, they WEF is basically a chatty room where powerful people get together to talk. Your work will be in bringing in these people, no more, no less. If you really want to improve the "state of the world", go work somewhere else, as I did.

Pros

Inspirational leadership from the top Thought provoking work Hugely clever colleagues Plenty of opportunities to show what you're capable of Freedom to work independently, plenty of support when you need it Much team building activity goes on The opportunity to do work that really makes a difference The sense that you're doing something worthwhile Getting to work with thought leaders, global figures from all walks of life

Cons

The public perception that it's just about Davos and what can we possibly do in the other 11.5 months of the year! Like many large organisations, the Forum loves its acronyms - it took a while to remember all of them!

Pros

Great exposure to interesting topics and fascinating people. Great opportunity to travel to exotic places. Great location of corporate headquarters. Founder a true visionary. Ski week at Davos after annual meeting

Cons

Too many capitans no soldiers. Watch your back, is a doggy dog world, everybody is looking out for themselves, no team work. Every body works in silos. Upper management with huge egos. Huge employee turnover.
