Pros

Good culture, mostly optimistic and positive from the experience I had on one team.

Cons

As teams and practices grow (good thing), and middle management either emerges or transitions (also good thing), that's where leadership really needs to buckle down and work hard to keep the dynamic within those teams/practices cohesive and transparent. Unfortunately, in my experience this did not happen. Top leadership was completely absent, leaving middle management in charge, which caused pockets of dysfunction, and ultimately turbulence and blemishes on the reputation of the team.

Pros

Have to say benefits and onsite health center. Work life balance Company culture and great executive team.

Cons

Honestly, your work life balance will be ruined by constant pressure from managers in IT. Career growth will be very difficult if you are a non-white employee. Managers have keyword when it’s time for promotion discussions. “High bar and responsible growth”. That bar lowers if you are white, even lower if you joke all day with manager without contributing to a meaningful level. I know people who are mid level devs for 7+ years but people who got promoted within a 2 years for reaching “high bar” because they are friends of manager. One manager directly told me position was specifically opened for someone and my interview was just a formality. They were that brutal. Exit interview is mostly waste of time because it will be shared with managers of that teams who were the cause for your bad experience in the first place.

Pros

company provides a lot of useful benefits

Cons

you could get paid more doing the same thing for a different company, management has poor communication, and makes unnecessary changes to how things ran. there are some grey areas where no one knows exactly how something is supposed to be handled.
