Pros

World Wide Technology has been growing at a rapid pace, they have strong financials, values and reasonable growth projections. The company core values are sincere and are extended to our employees, partners, customers and the work we perform. It definitely feels like a family within the immediate teams you work with. The executive team is amazingly friendly and sincere which does not go unnoticed by new employees - even after 5 years I hear new employees compliment this.

Cons

Given the company is rooted in STL, it is in an area that is less competitive than for example - Seattle, this makes a great job like WWT a little harder to get and people tend to camp out with very long tenures. This leads to some segments going stale or management issues but the biggest complaint I hear within the company is the sheer lack of growth opportunity. There is no where to move up to because no one really leaves. So expect to stay in your current role for a long time. That said, WWT does work with it's employees in other ways that is more personable than other companies. Part time, moving across country, illnesses in families - I've seen WWT support their employees through it all.

Thanks for your review. Yes, we are rooted in St. Louis but we remain committed to being a Growth Company both in the metropolitan area and globally. Depending on the nature of your interests, I encourage you to speak with someone about this; whether it's HR, your manager, or a manager in a department you'd like to learn more about. Again, I appreciate your feedback.

Pros

Ownership, the Executive Team & Leadership all demonstrate and cultivate the culture and values that make WWT a great place to work. Communication relative to: where the company is going, results, what is working and challenges are open and effective.

Cons

I can't really say that there are any downsides to working at World Wide Technology. As in any business there are challenges that have to be dealt with and our culture allows all to have a common reference point to work through challenges.

Pros

Excellent benefits, laid-back work environment, freedom to venture new technology, friendly people(most of the time!), NO SURPRISES!( you'd definitely know before getting fired!!), free tshirts on any occasion, perks/employee discounts.

Cons

There's a veiled favoritism in every corner of the office, most people have been here for 10+years and they brought along friends/families who gets the upper hand during promotions/training/career advice. Some departments are overlooked by the upper managements and the achievements by some are going unnoticed. I hated the infamous "3 things you'd like to improve about yourself"- whats the point of telling my desired areas of improvement if someone who is already bombarded with work gets priority over me?!

Thank you. Although we've been in business since 1990, over half of our nearly 4000 employees have been hired within the last 2 years. We have a very popular employee referral program which at times involves friends, relatives, former co-workers, etc. Knowing someone may help being introduced to the company but it doesn't provide priority with any employment decisions. All employees are expected to perform on their own merit; and advancement, training, etc. should have no correlation to who you know. Thanks very much for this feedback.
