Great first job

Pros

This was a fantastic first job for me, my manager was so lovely and supportive throughout my time there. Whilst the pay was around minimum wage, there was a great commission policy in place that really increased take home pay.

Cons

The same as any retail jobs, can be dull if customer footfall is low.

Pros

You can make 60-70k by doing the most soul destroying work possible.

Cons

I spent just shy of two years in the Cambridge store - I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy. Managed by an individual who perfectly perpetrates the company they work for, dishonest, lacklustre and soulless. This is the kind of job I’d urge any young individual to stay as far away from as possible. It opens no doors to any other sales roles - every other future company will assume your leads are handed to you and you’ll have to fight at interview stage to prove your worth. No weekends off, despite what they say. They try and trick you with contracts. Rest of the country gets an increase in minimum wage - not Wren, they’ll figure out a way to ensure you lose. Managed from the top down by plebs. Even the CEO looked like he’d been given a “job for the boys” if you catch my drift (nepotism runs rife). Good luck dealing with crying customers that their doors have expanded after 2 years - I sleep infinitely better now I don’t feel like I coerce people out of their hard earned savings.
