Pros

Free parking, cafeteria, small gym.

Cons

Systemic culture of bullying. Dead-end work. Total lack of job security. Imagine a 19th century mill with the lumpen proletariat slaving away in a huge room. Replace the looms with phones and computers and you are looking at Wren. A fearful staff constantly heckled by middle managers who seem to be in competition to outdo each other. There is nobody to raise concerns to, no empathy, no decency. I saw colleagues fired with impunity but I didn't get out before the same happened to me. There is one way to treat this company... as a stepping stone. Get in, take as much money from them as possible, get whatever experience you need for your next job and then get out.

Pros

On-site coffee bar, gym and beautiful surroundings; they even have live-in geese on the grounds! Some genuinely wonderful colleagues. On the up side the teams do harbour some real talent and I am pleased to say that there are a number of superbly down to earth, capable, articulate and well mannered individuals in the ranks - sadly they're often overlooked or driven to near madness because of the negative aspects of the company.

Cons

One day you have a job, the next day you don't and you probably won't get a clear reason as to why. The CEO seemingly has little or no idea what is going on in his own company. Staff are treated like commodities. Unfortunately there is a culture of complacency, ineptitude and fickleness that seems to be present at the higher levels of the business. For a company owned and operated under the watchful eyes of supposedly successful businessmen there is a huge amount of inconsistency and a massive amount of money wasted, from half-cocked campaigns to incredible stock deficits. Poor communication, an inherent lack of understanding and minimal levels of awareness between departments in terms of operations and creative practices impacting on the efficient development, execution and delivery of internal projects. Colleagues from different departments end up in cliques, naturally this will happen in most workplaces with a large number of staff, however there are few opportunities for staff to engage with one another in social settings. There is also an element of fear as the staff turnover is notoriously high with colleagues being served their notices on an unsettling regular basis for some ludicrous reasons. The toughest challenge at Wren is simply keeping on top of last minute requests and second-guessing the poor quality of communications, the lack of clarity or the contradictory nature of requests. A startling lack of logic and the rare application of foresight make for an incredibly challenging experience.
