Pros

Money you can earn is very good for what you do. That’s if the company stop bleeding it out of you slowly. Product you are selling is far superior to anything competitors are doing at a better price. If you want to be a sales manager (why would you want that, ridiculous hours and you earn less than a designer after bonus) the path is pretty easy, because no one at Wren wants the job.

Cons

The head office and stores are like two different companies. Head office treats stores like garbage and designers are just cannon fodder. The turn over of staff is a joke. If you make a mistake on an order, half of what the mistake will be deducted from your wages. Even if that amount is more than what you earned off the kitchen. If the mistake isn’t yours, the company will put it as your error anyway and you have to appeal it, which they then reject over something unrelated. The maximum contracts that head office give out are 34 hours, however you will be expected to do full time work load. Recognition for hard work is non existent. The company recently sent out an email saying they would give financial reward for a review on glassdoor, which shows how bad they are.

Pros

Used to be paid well.... Commission has been changed yet again. So those who are good at their jobs have taken a massive pay cut. You learn to have thick skin, you have to if you're going to get through the day under some of the senior managers. I feel bad for the showroom managers, they take a beating from higher up everyday.

Cons

Bullying is brushed under the carpet... If you are a big seller then 'it's ok' to push the rest of the team around, bully the management and generally be a complete idiot. Despite building up years of experience, you can still be sacked for not selling enough. Consistently average isn't good enough. Never step up to management! Massive pay cut from (a high hitting) designer and not worth it considering the agro that comes from above.... Nothing walks, get the sales, do what it takes.... What happened to improving customer service, standards and letting the great feedback do the selling? No work life balance.
