Wyzant Really Bad For New Tutors

There are really not any at all

Cons

Wyzant makes it really difficult to understand how to get started as a new tutor. If you do not complete there convoluted process correctly within 3 tries, you will NOT be considered to be a tutor. Without explanation, they will just say, "Sorry you don't qualify", in so many words, without giving much of a reason. Don't waste your time plus they will take a large portion of what you make.

n.b. I worked in the Chicago HQ for a few years, not as a tutor. - Great mission. - Great teammates who enjoyed working together. - Smart people.

Cons

- There was no operations department. - No team to work on the internal tools. - Tech team exposed to revenue pressures and moving the business metrics. - Platform tech behind the times. Took way too long to make small changes. - People constantly being hired and fired/quitting. - CEO felt a little disconnected from day-to-day operations.
