Pros

Until they got funded this was a really great place to work. Smart people, interesting projects and doing something good for people. Sadly none of that is true anymore.

Cons

When WyzAnt got money from Silicon Valley in 2014 everything started to fall apart. The co-founders hired a guy (who in my opinion was totally incompetent and who ended up being fired almost exactly a year later) in San Francisco to run the company remotely, they pushed out all the good, talented people who got them there in the first place and then they just started indiscriminately hiring people at a furious rate. The quality of the people went way down. there was no focus and no fun.

Great platform for part-time tutoring

Pros

Super helpful customer service staff--if you're having a technical issue, call and they will figure it out. You get to set your own hours & rules. I never felt unsafe/wary of potential clients the way that I used to when I just advertised tutoring on Craigslist. There are tons of measures in place to make sure that everyone is real and legit. The rating system is super helpful and a nice little ego boost when you get good feedback!

Cons

App had low functionality at first, but now it's way better. The cancellation fee structure is a little mushy, so if you're not a confrontational person you will still feel guilty about charging for cancellations (it's up to your discretion to charge). WyzAnt takes a pretty significant chunk of your take-home pay at first, but as long as you set your rate high enough it's not a big deal. Your focus should be to bring in your own clients from social media/other advertising/word of mouth, as well; that way you get 95% of your rate.
