XPRIZE is great.

Pros

The purpose. The projects. The people. From the top down, people genuinely care and want what is best. It's easy to draw inspiration and makes the working days easy to get through. There's tons of opportunity to work on different aspects within the organization to grow your skill set. You'll learn daily.

Cons

Managing expectations is the toughest part. Because the mission of the work is so world changing and cutting edge, people want similar results, but with a non-profit budget. Every workplace has downsides, but XPRIZE has the least out of every place I've worked.

Pros

Ambitious mission, an incredible group of passionate staff and leadership. XPRIZE has also made huge successful efforts over the last few years to improve the culture, to hold leadership accountable and to streamline/implement more effective processes.

Cons

Heavy workload with lean staff, constant fundraising

A lot of potential, but that’s probably it

Pros

Great place to network, discuss ideas and imagine a better future in a dystopian world. People and Culture are doing a great job looking for ways to support the work environment, such as quarterly quiet week and a new monthly benefit for wellness and family support. Great place to spend a year getting ready for your next career move if you need some padding on your resume. You’re colleagues may be some of the best people you’ve ever met, depending on your team. The CEO does her best to listen to concerns and makes herself available to people (she is an incredibly busy woman).

Cons

The problems here are structural, nothing is going to change. No room for advancement for most positions. The negative reviews are true and there is no way to know if they are from the few who were rightfully let go or the many that chose to leave due to the dysfunction and lack of career growth opportunities.
