      Pros

      I enjoyed my coworkers and my customers. I enjoyed the different challenges involved. I liked the static schedule. I enjoyed interacting with different departments.

      Cons

      You always feel like big brother is standing over you. They have issues with a lot you do even if it is to benefit the customers. They nitpick about a lot of things then wonder why they lose employees shortly after they hit the floor

      Pros

      Large stable utility company with little turnover. Generally competitive in salaries and good benefits. People are generally fairly decent, ethical.

      Cons

      Very political, senior leaders gave the pretense of cooperation, but were generally unwilling to work together. Company was trying to change that. Very bureaucratic organization, difficult to get anything new done without extensive meetings, review, overview.

      Pros

      Xcel gave me my first shot out of college, and I'll be forever grateful for that. I admired and respected 90% of the individuals I worked with there, and found the integrity and quality of work on the part of labor to be very impressive.

      Cons

      Management is another story. My first boss showed no interest in having the discussion of what was required for future advancement, and my second boss showed no interest in filling the open positions necessary for maintaining a functioning (and sane) group.
