      Pros

      Good money, good benefits, great training opportunities. The company is willing to spend time and money to train people. Apprenticeships are quality training in all work groups as far as I have seen.

      Cons

      Need more employees to fill gaps left by retiring employees and to fill spots that should have been filled long ago. Having people in place that are qualified is crucial to safety and to keeping our customers happy.

      It was a good place to work until non-power professionals (bean-counters) took over management.

      Pros

      Interesting job, most employees are very professional, union promotion sometimes kept best worker from advancing, good pay and medical benefits, a retirement plan.

      Cons

      Upper management had no power background, they were all accountants and money managers. Most times had to read or hear company news in paper or on TV. Management doesn't treat their employees fairly, if company in wrong they make you fight in courts for rights and try to break you financially by prolonging situation. Management makes political decisions based how much they can earn through manipulation of permitting and rate process.

      Pros

      Union job pay and benifits are very good, very safety oriented,

      Cons

      The union, I worked as a temp employee for 3 years with no vacation or benifits was paid less and did the same job or more as the permanent employees and was treated as expendable and expected to pay union dues.
