      A warning to anyone thinking of working in the Milton Keynes office

      Very well equipped office in Milton Keynes.

      Cons

      I offer the following advice to any people thinking of working in the Milton Keynes office: 1) The office culture in Milton Keynes is probably dramatically less intelligent than you expect. I’ve worked for an architecture company, a leisure company head office, a multinational retailer, a logistics company, a pressure group, pubs, restaurants, a cinema once! I was shocked by how unintelligent the culture was at this place. 2) Take a very sceptical look at interviewers and potential colleagues/bosses. 3) You probably dramatically underestimate the chances of being very frustrated here. 4) You probably dramatically underestimate the chances of not working here very long, either by choice or otherwise. 5) If you do choose to work here, prepare yourself (particularly financially) to not work here very long. ESPECIALLY if you are thinking of relocating to work here. I mean this very seriously. My time at this office was a shocking farce. Some of the comments in other reviews here resonate; from both UK and abroad.

Generally, we enjoy a low turnover of employees, high employee engagement and eNPS scores and a real sense that people love working here.       Great colleagues but toxic culture. Execs destroyed the company

      - The American execs have completely gutted the great #human culture. - The annual reviews are ruthless. They're borderline illegal here in AU/NZ because ratings are manipulated to force out a certain number (percentage) of good-performing staff regardless of their actual performance.

      Pros

      Some genuinely decent people in the team trying to make the best of a difficult environment. Salary and benefits are standard for the industry.

      Cons

      The culture varies wildly depending on your manager – unfortunately, certain individuals in leadership foster a micromanagement-heavy environment that borders on controlling. Constructive feedback is often replaced with sarcasm and dismissiveness, creating a fear-based vibe rather than one of support and development. Mistakes are treated like character flaws, not learning opportunities. “Wellbeing” is used more as a buzzword than something actually respected. A lot of performative support, but when you actually need space, trust, or autonomy… it disappears.
