Pros

Great benefits, perks & location etc.

Cons

Constant change in upper management and all the way down the ladder. No real stability unless you are part of the F.O.B.

Disappointing.....

Pros

Growing company. Free snacks and lunches. Fun work environment and great coworkers! Happy hours and the occasion celebration after a release along with fun ping pong tournaments.

Cons

Potential to move up is limited by who you are associated with. Nepotism is very apparent as well as the constant chain of hiring everyone's friends without proper qualifications or education. Product development needs more QA prior to feature release. Communication across teams is non-existent. Pay is horrible! Promised rapid career advancement along with significant salary increase....laughable. Annual salary increase is a measly 2.5%, the government does 5%. Way to be competitive Xero! That barely covers inflation let alone the significant increase in cost of living for Denver employees. For the most part management seems exceptional, however one bad apple spoils the bunch. The One in particular is shielded by higher-up friends despite many complaints regarding poor communication skills and a complete lack of leadership ability which can been seen by her 3-0 record of employees.

I am sorry that your experience at Xero was less than positive. As a fast growing company we take feedback seriously and will make changes to improve our environment and people experience as necessary. Around 35% of hires come from internal referrals and we believe this is a positive endorsement of our values and culture. Our hiring process is rigorous involving people at different levels and requiring multiple layers of approval. We foster a performance driven culture with reward reflecting strong performance. Coaching and mentoring our managers to develop their skill sets is an important part of our performance culture but ongoing bad management is not something we tolerate. It is unclear if feedback on the manager you reference was provided to your HR team. If you feel comfortable emailing details to uspxteam@xero.com we can investigate further.

Thank you for your feedback. At Xero we have various sales teams focused on our different customer segments. One benefit of this is that we can offer sales career progression opportunities - from entry level through the most senior representatives. Entry level opportunities will often attract less experienced and younger people. Overall Xero has a very diverse employee population.
