Pros

People are nice, work is interesting, willingness to try new things.

Cons

People are actually not that nice behind your back. I was really excited to start this job, but that quickly changed. I received absolutely zero onboarding, training, or explanation of critical processes, then was disciplined when I made errors. I was told that there was an expectation that I would 'hit the ground running' because I was more senior, however, no one would be able to hit the ground running with zero context and zero education on process. I was only 4 months in when I was told I was going to be put on a pip. This is after my first two months were preoccupied with back to back (unpredictable) personal matters - natural disaster in my area and a death in the family. So in one breath I was told they were flexible and understanding of my position, but in the very next breath I was being scolded for not knowing how to do everything. Again, with minimal support. I was also told that I was asking questions that were too basic. So let me get this straight, you want me to automatically know how to do everything with zero errors less than 4 months into a new company without the benefit of being able to ask questions? On top of all of this, I regularly worked 12+ hours days, including weekends. I was constantly glued to my phone fearing I would miss something, especially after the feedback I had gotten.
