The best of times and the worst of times

Pros

Still many good people working there and there's reasonable work/life balance. The pay was pretty good for top performers. Working there under Wim was the best experience of my career. The products are good and exciting to work with.

Cons

Corporate culture was completely trashed by Moshe and the managers he brought in. The company that Bernie built and Wim even improved upon has been ruined for its employees and customers. The culture that is pervasive now is one of politics and back stabbing. The values of honesty and transparency have been eliminated by senior management by making employees fearful. Speaking up will get you fired in the next round of quarterly layoffs.

Pros

WAS a great company to work for. There was a great feeling of camaraderie and you worked with smart, enthusiastic people every day.

Cons

Current management seems to be a clique. If you are in the clique things are great, if not you will eventually get fired in a quarterly cost cutting move.

Good benefits. That's about it.

Cons

It's only the OK salary that gives me any satisfaction. Every three months, they have us working ridiculous 7-day-a-week, 12-hour schedules. This lasts for about a month. Repeat two months later. No time off in between. How does executive management solve the problem? It's a 3-prong approach: a) management takes week-long, unbooked vacations to Aspen in the heat of the work cycle, b) have a few rounds of morale-boosting layoffs, and c) not hire, even to cover headcount. Hey, at least margins are up... temporarily. In my nearly 20 years, this is easily the worst I've seen it. Don't just take it from this disgruntled employee; our internal employee surveys show the same thing. I wish I could share the results of our survey from the past 2 years. It's very eye-opening to everyone, except those in management (the very same who interpret the survey and act on the results).
