Great technology, inexperienced management, work is never ending, doesn't value marketing

Pros

Most people are nice and care a lot. Amazing technology.

Cons

Do not work here if you want a life outside of your job. Management has no idea how marketing works in the "real world" and doesn't believe or invest in it. CEO is inexperienced and it shows. Most execs running business units and marketing. are engineers that don't know what they are doing, yet they insist on making every decision themselves, making it nearly impossible to get anything meaningful accomplished. They don't have basic tools like Sales Force.

Pros

Great people and team depending on which organization you work in. Good benefits.

Cons

NO work/life balance, no career growth or development although the HR preaches it. Company has a bad tendency to put unqualified individuals in people management positions. HR is not there for the employees.

Pros

Xilinx is a cutting edge, industry leading organization - the teams are innovative and always looking ahead to the next generation of products. Work-life balance is what you make of it and depends on the team and project you work on. Overall, people still say "Good Morning" and "Hello" to you when you see them at the office and just don't walk by you in a rush. You can still see the contributions you make in the final product of whatever you do. Pay for performance is in effect at Xilinx. The people here are awesome to work with.

Cons

As with any position and company, the workload is what you make of it - you can work as much as you need to - if you choose to stay at work late to accomplish what you need to do, then it must be done - being an industry leader often requires the extra effort.
