Decision makers are clueless

Pros

Benefits and compensation are fair and competitive.

Cons

A lot of good changes have been made recently, but only due to local management. Offsite corporate management makes all the final decisions, even though most of them don't even understand what is manufactured in Dallas. Local management knows what needs to happen, but are unfortunately held back by corporate. The company will never truly reach its potential until this plant is taken seriously.

code of conduct : a joke.

Pros

We are basically paid well (regardless the racist differentiation of salaries among employees).

Cons

Xylem code of conduct is a joke. Offices tend to be more of a jungle at times due to some corrupt directors. You have to befriend your big boss to advance in your career because your skills and degree mean quite nothing at Xylem.

Worst company I've ever worked at

Pros

Ok benefits and 401k but other then that none

Cons

The company has one value, make money for upper managemant and investors. You are expected to work 50+ hours a week for a 40 hour paycheck. It didn't used to be this way. You are routinely "reminded" by upper management that you are lucky to have a job. The career path at xylem is the good old boys network. If you're planning on trying to advance and build a career with this company, you better hope upper level management likes you and that you can get into their good graces. If they don't, you'll never get a fair opportunity to advance. A college degree, experience and/or hard work won't get you anywhere with this company, unless you are in there click . They don't care about you, they will tell you they do, but they don't. I've seen many well qualified men and women get canned, because they didn't sit at the right table during lunch.
