Gain experience in direct client care with victims of domestic violence.

I do not ever leave reviews but I need to warn people about this place. This specific location (Nashville and Middle TN) has consistent issues that have not changed with rotating management. This is a social work agency with no social workers in upper management. This causes corruption and EXTREME boundary crossing. There have been several incredulous ethical violations that should have cost people their licenses, jobs, and probably jail time. Training is poor. Management is incompetent. HR is corrupt. You may come in with the attitude of "I want to help make things better". I sure did. So many wonderful people have quit because of how bad it is. I was warned and did not listen. There is retaliation that follows anyone who speaks up about anything. Stay away from this place at all costs. Do not do this to your career or your mental health!! There are so many other opportunities. This is not worth it!!

The Gettysburg YWCA is one of the most toxic establishments I've ever encountered, to say the least. Most feel unsafe to express how they truly feel and how they are being treated. Most people wait until after they quit to expose their treatment, in fear of retaliation, because that is the character of upper management. Seemingly, their frame of thinking is more reactive, rather than proactive, in all aspects. Ethics and morals lack tremendously. Additionally, morale is forced because it isn't authentic. Accountability is another downfall to this organization, as management lacks this trait as well. I bought into the mission of eliminating racism and empowering women, however, the organization has proved time and time again that they really don't care. All they care about is money and profits. Sad.
