Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. While we are glad to hear that you enjoyed our remote work model and our comprehensive benefits offerings, we are sorry to hear that you have been disappointed in your experience at Yelp. Our management style at Yelp is very hands-on, and to some this may feel like micro-management. Our goal is to give ample support for our sales team while they learn new sales skills and practice new tactics. This sometimes includes things like dropping in on calls to assist with closing deals or managers having team check-ins multiple times per day to ensure everyone is on-track to achieve their goals. We know this approach is not for everyone, but we've created a successful and supportive environment through this strategy. With that being said, all of our managers go through two different programs before being selected to become people leaders. The Manager Development Program (MDP) is a classroom-based curriculum designed to teach the fundamentals of the role. Candidates who successfully pass MDP then need to earn a spot in our Coaching Development Program (CDP), a 3 month "on-the-job" training whereby we start to put classroom principles taught in MDP into practice. This is not a management job, but a way for us to see whether candidates can coach and operate according to our standards. Candidates who successfully complete CDP can then apply to be a manager. If they get the job, they're then enrolled in a suite of trainings, from New Manager Training to all the current curriculums legacy managers need to complete. We encourage you to lean on your manager about some of the concerns you may be having so we can find ways to support you best. Keep up the great work, we're glad you're here!

We appreciate your feedback! We're so glad to hear that you enjoyed our remote work model and found our benefits to be of value during your time with us, and we couldn't agree more that the people at Yelp are truly amazing! Here at Yelp, our management style takes a very hands-on approach. While to some this may feel like micromanagement, the goal of this style is to provide ample support for our sales teams while they learn new skills and practice new tactics. Sometimes that can look like various one-on-one conversations throughout the day, and setting sales quotas that encourage people to continually improve. While we understand it can be challenging to be held accountable to specific metrics on a daily basis, we know that this is the best way one can be successful in sales. With that being said, we value training for all of our employees, including our managers, so training and coaching is an ongoing part of their career at Yelp. All of our managers go through two different programs before being selected to become people leaders. Thank you again for your feedback, and we wish you the very best in your next role.
