Thanks for your feedback! We're glad to hear that you enjoyed our remote work model, however it's disappointing that your overall experience was anything less than what you had hoped for. We appreciate your contributions to the team and hope that you've found a role that is better aligned with your career goals.

We're glad you enjoyed the benefits and working with the great people on our team. We understand that the Account Executive role can be challenging, which is why we go to great lengths during the interview process to clearly set expectations about what the day-to-day actually looks like. We never want to spring surprises on anyone on day one. Our primary goal is to make sure that everyone who comes onboard has a solid, realistic understanding of the highs and lows a career in sales can bring. We appreciate all of your contributions during your time with us and wish you the very best in your next role.

Pros

Lots of communication with management - depending on the manager of course.

Cons

Being an AE at a company like Yelp is not easy. You have to have the work ethic and the ability to be able and willing to cold call, be hung up on, say the same things over and over again.

Thanks for your feedback! As you mentioned, the Account Executive role isn't easy, which is an expectation we go to great lengths to set during our interview process, as we don't want to spring any surprises on folks on day one. Cold calling is a tough task with a high volume of rejection, not just at Yelp, but at any company. Business owners receive tens of calls per day from salespeople pitching various services, so we fully expect their initial reaction to be 'no'. Where Yelp differentiates itself is through our comprehensive training curriculum and ongoing management coaching. We teach our Account Executives to handle this rejection by remaining persistent without being pushy, focusing instead on providing genuine value to the business owners they speak with. We appreciate your feedback and wish you the best in your next role.
