Pros

Best employer I've worked for, for many reasons. A few highlights: - Flexibility is great - Work/life balance definitely exists but you have to actively manage it - A lot of career development opportunities - Fun start-up quirks and perks/benefits - Interesting product - Smart, friendly people - Great programming (parties, lunches, employee resource groups, all-hands, etc.)

Cons

Vibes were high for a very long time and now that the company has hit a period of uncertainty (as many others have), it's easy for people to use Glassdoor to vent. All things considered, there really aren't any major cons, the experience is what you make of it.

Great product, growing pains

Pros

YipitData alt data investor product is the gold standard in the financial community. Good opportunity to become the gold standard in enterprise as well. Really smart product team members who are a pleasure to work with. Flexible vacation and remote work are a big plus.

Cons

Growing pains. Culture has deteriorated with the company growing though the company makes an honest effort to fix it. Still has not found the solution as can be seen in the glassdoor ratings continuing to dip over time. The layoffs were poorly handled. CEO overoptimistic about company prospects which made the layoffs a surprise. Exacerbated by questionable hiring decisions made this year. Likely to rub people, who lost their colleagues in the layoffs, the wrong way. Organization becoming more complex with more time being spent on administrative stuff / meetings, and less on execution such as product dev, sales etc. Quality of the talent has dipped as the company made a large number of hires the last two years in a tight labor market when the business was growing rapidly. Place becoming more political. Most exec hires from GLG. Feels like CEO wants Yipit to be more like GLG.

Pros

For the most part your peers will be good people, trying their best. Unlimited PTO is nice.

Cons

There is 0 coaching that takes place, no training (trainers don't know how to sell). The culture tanked as soon as the numbers slipped showing the immaturity and lack of leadership from the top on the business development team. There are snakes in the grass at yipit, you will be told everything is going well, but behind the scenes that's not the case. One second you're told one thing, the next you'll get blindsided. You simply cant trust leadership on the rev side. If you come from GLG you will get preferential treatment.
