Pros

I continue to be wow'ed and inspired by Yoga Six. I am proud to be a part of this team and feel fully supported by it's members - an important point, as I am a new employee. As I embarked on my journey with Yoga Six, I was impressed at how much training they provided me with, in various markets where they are already established. They spared no expense to ensure my preparation and continue to support my growth daily. The culture of the company is honest and real. For a passionate, fast growing, corporate yoga company, they truly honor the "yoga" within the business, and it is evident in every interaction.

Cons

My schedule is flexible/non-traditional, which is a pro and a con. I have to be strict with myself when enforcing my "days off" as it would be easy to work seven days a week.

Pros

Progressive culture, class offerings, great community, co-workers, growth opportunities, company invests time into developing employees

Cons

Non-flexible hours, no benefits, upper management tends to micromanage, more obsessed with tiny details rather than big picture, trying to grow too fast

Thank you very much for sharing this feedback. It is important for everyone to know that there;s a great deal of structure to the roles at Yoga Six. Managers do their best not to micromanage and we are sorry you experienced this. To be clear, all full-time employees receive a full range of very high quality benefits.

Truly a Unique Opportunity

Pros

Yoga Six is a small company with a BIG vision - to make yoga accessible and approachable to everyone by focusing on the body (as the gateway to the mind) and the tangible benefits of the practice. I love being part of an organization that is committed to making the type of impact that will change lives. I have heard so many "first yoga class" horror stories that deter people from the practice. On top of that the office has an open door policy and the team genuinely likes working together. Decisions are made based on data, and "failure" is okay as long as the learnings are carried forward and applied to the next project.

Cons

The company is growing quickly and experiences growing pains here and there. It's probably not the best place for someone who wants a lot of structure and consistency. Another thing to consider are the hours - the studios are open 365 days per year. This means that some team members are always working and occasionally need support (from the corporate team) outside of traditional work hours. Building a company can be a lot of work but it's also very rewarding.
