Pros

The benefits are pretty decent. Most of the people are tolerable. The occasional free lunch. It’s near a Starbucks. You get 5-7 breaks if you’re a smoker. Exercise those lungs!

Cons

Where do I start? It used to be tolerable place to work. After the merger, the company started going downhill. Apparently, another one has quietly taken place at the local level with the influx of new employees from a competing company. These new employees were given top positions. It doesn’t seem like any of them have experience in what they were hired to do. One of the new managers walks around like he owns the place. It seems most of the employees have a distaste for him. He should try having a better relationship with his employees instead of trying to run the good ones out with his power trip. This is not the place for growth unless you’re really good at brown nosing. You’re not rewarded for how hard you work, but who you brown nose. It seems to be the way it works at a lot of companies. The morale is pretty low nowadays.

Pros

average benefits depending on which dept you work for it could be ok

Cons

There is new mgmnt that is all about cost reducing so they fired several people and trying to reduce OT for everyone because branch is not making money, no bonus so no motivation to work hard. But it is strange because they keep hiring former Geodis employees to fill in the positions of people that were fired so it is not really cost reducing. Also they want you to work less OT but with less people which doesnt make sense too.

Worst company I worked for over 30 year career

Pros

Benefits Some great people I worked with around the globe

Cons

No offense to the Japanese who I continue to respect, but the culture is vastly different from American culture and as an American you are treated as a minority. It is very nepotistic, for example, an Assistant Manager who is Japanese has more leverage and power than an American V.P. Every year Japanese expats relocate and a new group comes into management positions. This means every year changes based on hiring and firing of anyone under the new Japanese in charge. those changes have a trickle-down effect on everyone. This leads to disorganization due constant upheaval and turnover and they always leave behind unfinished business like creating standardized processes, improving I.T. (Surprisingly sooo far behind in technology, or lack of...) They bring you in and make you feel important. You have something to bring to the table and they NEED you, but you are destined for failure.
