Cons

The legal department at ZF was a very toxic environment. If you were a new employee people that have been there for years would look down on you and treat you like you weren't good enough. A few of the employees specifically would target you and harass you and would tell the supervisors false statements about you and there is nothing you can do about it because you're a new employee there. The legal department in Livonia, MI needs to be dealt with in a manner that makes the department a comfortable environment for everyone that works there. The worst thing is the constant harassment from the other women that work there that are so miserable in their everyday lives that they will take it out on you. One in particular MS would control your every move. She would never let you work peacefully on your own because she feels the need to control everyone around her. BEWARE of this position! Pros

HA! decent pay, thats the only pro

Cons

this company is a joke. you work with propellants and explosives and turn a complete blind eye to safety. If you express safety concerns they will fire you. Im sorry but I value my safety. people that have been there get away with any and everything you can imagine. lunch room sucks lunch breaks are too short. there is no where to get any type of food within 15 minutes. Rattlesnakes are abundant inside and outside the buildings. I was let go the day after i injured my finger due to old faulty equipment and told it was because spent too much time on my cell phone. lol I didnt even own one at that time. slave drivers that dont care one bit about employees. because they hire through temp agencies. and have people lined up. to get in and to get out. my 1st 3 weeks 7 people were fired and replaced. in a group of about 35-40 and the turn over never slowed down. employees take bets on how long new people will stay. When i was let go they called me at home said dont bother coming in tonight lol . should have listened to friends that work there previously. i would rather have stayed collecting the minuscule unemployment than work there. manager walked around in tennis shoes when it was clearly required to wear ESD safety toed shoes. when it was mentions they said dont worry about me worry about yourself. UHHH I AM you could cause a fire or explosion in here The culture is "Do as I say not as I do!" and "The Rules and safety mandates apply to you not me Ive been here 7 years!"

Pros

Very large company so decent job security.

Cons

Two groups: People who have been there 20+ years and the newer people. The two do not mix because the people that have been there are stuck in their old ways and not open to progressive ideas - they do not want someone to look better than them. They promote based on how long you stay not how good/motivated you are - so lots of people in management have gone one job beyond their ability. Very demotivating environment.
