Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately the recent contract transition had some great impact on individuals, particularly those that were level III analysts and were down-graded to level II billets due to the new contract shrinking the number of level III billets. Although I appreciate your "advice to Peers", this change potentially had a life changing impact to them, and there should be a coping period. What should stay at the forefront though is our ability to provide the support deserved to our customer. As a management team we will continue to do everything we can to lessen the pain caused by the fiscally constrained contract environment. We will also continue to engage corporate leaders on benefits and leave. By the way, we recently found a way to incorporate provisional time with time taken off with a holiday to grant a full day of leave (for those requiring 12.5 hours for a day off) when a holiday is taken. Please continue to keep us informed of the good, bad, and the ugly and we will do what we can to work for you. V/R, Christopher Brewer Zel Technologies LLC. AFSOC ISR PED Senior PM

Pros

PM seems to genuinely care about the work force and has argued for benefit returns not established in the beginning such as Jury / Bereavement and time off flexibility and advanced leave.

Cons

Salary / Benefits took a hit due to government LPTA sourcing. Would have occurred regardless of which company won.

I truly thank you for the concise and honest feedback. We have investigated and been granted opportunities to reward employees for quality work, such as the Spot, Quarterly, and Yearly awards the work force has recently been informed of, and your valid concerns regarding benefits is being brought up through the echelons of the company in a request that we review them for any opportunity to change them next year. I urge you to maintain communication with your management team on concerns, so that we can continue to address them as we can. V/R, Christopher Brewer Zel Technologies LLC. AFSOC ISR PED Senior PM

Pros

There are absolutely no pros. This company is pure garbage.

Cons

Zel Technologies and partner MacAulay-Brown hired people for high salaries to get them to meet manning requirements for a new contract then cut their salaries by up to 40% within three months of hiring them. Additionally, ALL employees received pay cuts of 10-40% due to this company purposefully underbidding their contract. Health care currently costs over $1300/mo for employee + family. Your 401k is NOT VESTED for the entire first year and only vested at a MAXIMUM of 25 cents / dollar at the end of SIX YEARS. This is a three year contract. There is absolutely zero communication from leadership and employees were literally told that their growth opportunities would come from others quitting or being fired. There is absolutely no way to move up regardless of your qualifications or experience unless someone else leaves or are fired first. All current employees were handcuffed to drastically cut salaries and told we had 24 hours to accept or find new jobs. This company is terrible and should be investigated for poor business ethics.

Although I empathize with what may have caused this emotionally driven review, it is unfortunate that you did not stick to facts. -First, we did not hire anyone and then cut their salaries. We had no part of any previous contract until 16 Jan. -Second, due to the government cutting the number of level III billets, and employees having to accept level II (or with the waterfall effect level I billets), there were pay cuts for some. Certain individuals, however, who were below where they should have been actually received pay bumps. For cuts, where they had to occur did range from 1-30%. It was unfortunate, but when a contract is sourced as LPTA AND the number of level III billets are cut drastically, there is going to be an impact to some salaries for those affected. -Third, the company did not "purposely underbid" the contract. These cuts would have happened regardless of who won the contract. This contract, like others in our career field, is not the first, or will be the last sourced in this manner. Three months into this contract I believe folks are seeing that we were not lying. Our current attrition rates are lower than the average on the standard contract was in the past. Additionally, we are having employees applying and being hired that are coming from areas that were hit much worse than the AFSOC PED contract in regards to salaries. -401k contributions are matched 25 cents on the dollar, and vested over five years (20% a year). This practice is the most common method of 401k matching for contractors (that even have matching). Just because our contract is a three year contract, does not mean the rest of the company falls in the same boat. Additionally, as long as there is work where we are, we are committed to try and remain as the incumbent. If we lose in three years, then we would want to transfer any employee we could to other locations we have work available. -Promotions: Since we transitioned the contract we have promoted eight employees. Additionally, because we do not have an open level II or III billet does not mean an employee cannot earn a pay raise within their level. Also, another way to progress is to apply for line supervisor positions when they become available. As for employee health benefits, I completely understand your stance and agree they are far from the best. I am discussing them with HR and other corporate leaders to investigate the potential for change. I hope since you posted this you have seen how much we do care about the work force, and have taken every opportunity we could to make changes in your favor.
