Pros

Free samples, friendly coworkers, some nice customers

Cons

I understand that certain reviews may come off fabricated to a degree. Let me tell you that Zen Leaf in St. Charles would bend over backwards to break compliance if it meant shortening a transaction by 5 seconds. As a former AIC, I had witness numerous situations where the State Compliance Officer docked the store on blatant misconduct regarding cannabis compliance. These examples are not limited to: Non-compliant storage of cannabis items on the sales floor Non-compliant operations of taking deliveries Non-compliant priority of medical and recreational patients Along with what has been said, Verano/Zen Leaf could not make a final decision on how lines should be displayed for the customers, leading to daily confusion as to WHERE the customer should stand. Something so simple, and so direct, should not be something worth disciplining staff over when these issues are brought to management. However, the negative reviews would seemingly be ignored. Verano/Zen Leaf has seemingly never taken accountability for their own actions, it falls on the hourly staff, who are being mislead by their superiors. Verano/Zen Leaf hardly encouraged the knowledge of cannabis in a medical context. Instead, staff was encouraged to sell Verano products with priority.

Pros

The samples and the insurance that's it

Cons

Higher ups only looking out for themselves. Budtenders and AICs are replaceable in a heart beat to them. You try to take off an hour early once in a blue moon for a Dra appointment or anything you have to take a half day of 4 hours of PTO to take the 1 if you have none to use it's an attendance point 8 of them in the year your fired. You can't be more then 3 minutes late you can't start more then 7 minutes early. Was full time but only got 25-30 hours a week and had to pull teeth to get the extra 10. Oh best part worked there a year got no raise. Brought it up to them a month and half after it was supposed to be done cause we changed all management in the time I was supposed to and then got canned a week later cause I said I wanted back pay for the 2 months they missed. Work life balance doesn't exist here at all. You have to be open available everyday doesn't matter. Constantly calling the group chat for people to pick up shifts. They brought the kiosks in and expected it all to be okay when now customers are hostile as heck. Coworkers are fighting each other for the greeter position just so you can have some down time from the 45 minute wait time lines the customers have now. Oh also the higher ups literally told me that 30-45 minute wait times are a good thing. Never have I wanted to wait for something that long. I always leave 🤷 oh also all the seniority they had at any of the locations in Illinois went to zero really quick they either fired or they quit for better opportunities. Some of them worked there since the dispensaries opened. Stay away as much as you can. Their CEO doesn't care either unless it's filling his pockets hence them bringing in the kiosks and cleaning out all the dispensariss of their seniors to pay part timers which they never did in the past. Basically just know you are replaceable to them they just see you as a number
