Pros

Zeta has been one of the most meaningful places I have ever worked, and the more time I spend here the more convinced I am that what this network is building is genuinely special. Senior leadership invests real trust in their teams, gives directors the autonomy to build thoughtfully, and stays engaged in a way that feels supportive rather than supervisory. The strategic vision is clear and compelling for a network of this size, the commitment to serving New York City families is sincere rather than slogan-driven, and the founder has created a culture where doing right by kids and doing rigorous work are treated as inseparable. Cross-functional partners across operations, academics, and talent are sharp, genuinely collaborative, and easy to work with, which makes every project move faster and feel better along the way. Decisions happen at a pace that respects everyone's time, feedback flows in both directions, and there is a shared sense that this network is building something durable rather than chasing the next shiny thing.

Cons

The ambition of the network is genuinely high, which means the most fulfilling contributions come from those who are energized by building, iterating, and growing alongside a network still writing its next chapter.

Mission-driven culture for education advocates

Pros

Zeta is a mission-driven organization that genuinely puts kids first — everyone operates with the same commitment. It's a natural fit for teachers, as well as those drawn to education, but not the classroom. There are meaningful roles at the network level. Teams benefit from coaching and support, and there are leadership pathways for those who want to move into management. The people are sharp and the culture is deeply collaborative and community-oriented.

Cons

Zeta is scaling fast, which means the environment is dynamic and sometimes unpredictable. There is a startup-minded culture, and not everyone is built for that. Priorities shift, processes evolve, and those who thrive have the flexibility to adapt without losing focus.

Pros

Working at Zeta has been a very rewarding experience for me both professionally and personally. While the environment is fast-paced and the expectations are high, the work feels meaningful because everyone is deeply committed to student growth and success. I appreciate being part of a school culture that values urgency, accountability, and strong relationships with families, while always keeping students at the center of decision-making. Throughout my time here, I have grown tremendously as an educator and as a leader. I have learned how to think more intentionally about instruction, culture, family communication, and team collaboration. I also appreciate that feedback is viewed as an opportunity for growth rather than criticism, which has pushed me to continuously reflect and improve my practice. One of the things I value most about Zeta is the sense of teamwork and shared purpose. There is a strong culture of support, and I have had the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues who are passionate, hardworking, and genuinely invested in helping one another succeed. Being in this environment has challenged me to step outside of my comfort zone, strengthen my leadership skills, and strive for excellence in everything I do. Most importantly, I appreciate the impact we are able to have on students and families. Seeing students grow academically, socially, and emotionally throughout the year makes the work worthwhile and reinforces the importance of maintaining high expectations and strong school-family partnerships.

Cons

One challenge of working at Zeta is that the expectations are extremely high, which can sometimes make it easy to feel like you are never doing enough, even when you are working very hard and giving your best effort. While the high standards push growth and strong outcomes, maintaining that pace consistently can at times feel overwhelming.
