Glorified telemarketer

Pros

Zillow has good benefits, inexpensive to include each member of the family. Snacks and drinks provided for you, as well.

Cons

The company and culture was presented as a great place to work , with the opportunity to make good money. The truth is it's a glorified call center/telemarketing job. Days are always 10-12 hours, just to hit your minimum requirements. 150 phone calls; encoragement to come in early, stay late and eat lunch at your desk to continue working. The pay will never equal the amount of work you put in. 170% of quota will have you under 100k. It's very stressful and extremely unprofessional. Very noisy while on the phone. I have been told by customers that it sounds like a circus. And the turnover is outrageous!! Every other week, more empty seats for those who have been fired or simply quit. I would NOT recommend this position to anyone!!

Pros

Flexible work life balance. Great benefits!!! Gym stipend and monthly office stipend

Cons

Losing the culture that everyone once loved about Zillow. I dont even think Zillow realizes that most of their sales floor is in THERAPY. They are cutting TOP producers over trivial things. Mostly when people highlight the ridiculous unfairness of what Zillow has continuously put us through. They are always changing the benchmark so you think you’re free and safe one month and it changes the next. You can be the top seller with zero job security. Reps who have given over decades to their life for Zillow have taken their well earned PTO, only to come back and be told that they are on the verge of losing their jobs due to zero flexibility. We all know what we sign up for in careers as salespeople, but Zillow takes advantage of that. The new sales leaders have destroyed a place that people once loved to work at.

We appreciate your review. It’s clear you see some bright spots, but also areas where we don’t fully meet expectations, and that matters to us. We’re committed to learning from these reflections and using them to improve how we show up for our people.

Great if you are not BIPOC

Pros

In the rentals org there are a lot of great coworkers and a good chunk of great management. If you hustle, as you should, you will easily exceed your targets.

Cons

The Enterprise team, the top position in the rentals org, just did a large hiring. Everyone brought on to the team looks the same. They are all white and straight identifying. There are 40 people on the team and only 2 are BIPOC. For a team that handles all the largest accounts you think they would represent what Zillow stands for. It has been made clear to me and others that the only way to move up in the team and be recognized for your hard work is to look and act like the group who is hiring.
