Pros

Many learning opportunities. As someone who is currently in college for the medical field, this was a great stepping stone. You also wear many hats, learning about inventory, phlebotomy, customer service, lab work, etc. In my market, we were like family and everyone got along with each other. We were so close, that even outside of work we could reach out to each other if needed. Also, the insurance provided was great and you get bonuses for patients. Also, as a company, they have free nights to reach out to those in the community in need. Upward mobility within the company is completely achievable as they do promote from within. Work hard and be rewarded as long as you show interest in moving up.

Cons

Sadly, after a year and a half, ZoomCare pulled out of my market. The way that this was handled was completely unprofessional and left many of us here befuddled. I was not told that I had lost my job until 8pm the night they chose to close our clinics. No option to at least finish out the week, particularly since it was the week of our free night and we had so many people needing that care. The lack of communication up to the closure was terrible. I was working day by day, not knowing my schedule for the next day until the middle of my shift the day before. They did offer a severance but the amount offered was almost insulting considering we are in one of the worst job markets in the history of the United States.

Pros

Room for growth! This company has a great product and would be an amazing contribution to the communities it is in! It is fun to be a part of a team that is truly going to make a difference in the health care field. To watch it grow - and be a part of that was really spectacular.

Cons

There is a LOT of open discrimination towards females and people of younger ages that work at ZoomCare - even though they are fully qualified. They claim to be a family and be open, but they are very secretive. One of the founders in particular was very inappropriate with his approach to speaking with others, and very concerned about money on his side. It seems as if they are slowly taking away the benefits of the employees and not listening to their employees. Additionally, ZoomCare required many more hours than negotiated in the contract, refused to compensate for them - resulting in unhappy employees. This type of situation has led to a gossipy core of employees, and not a fun place to work.

Pros

Services offered can provide very positive patient experiences as long as not overly complex. Friendly team members.

Cons

Is a sinking ship with a very heavy $ anchor pulling them down. Has laid off a huge % of support depts (HR, training and development, most leadership including managers, directors and executives). Consultant company making uninformed decisions on who will be laid off. They did a 5 minute site visit at locations and have zero knowledge of employees. Nixing the very high performing, higher paid employee higher over the underperforming employee to save a buck. Literally we are talking dollars. Eliminating leaders with extensive healthcare experience and running organization with minimal healthcare knowledge. It’s a disaster and does/will not feel secure.
