Pros

Working at DiscoverOrg is certainly not for the meek, or the lazy - everyone here is ambitious, highly intelligent, hungry and extremely hard working. It is a sink or swim type environment to an extent, but once you "earn your stripes" -you truly become part of something special. The passion that everyone shares is undeniable, and it is infectious. The team cares about the company, cares about what we do, cares about the product, and cares about each other. It is the norm that folks will get together after work for happy hour, or go on a weekend camping trip / hike / snowboard trip. It is the kind atmosphere we're everyone pushes themselves, and each other, to be better, and improve the company as a whole. Though competition is built into the backbone of this company, it is what makes DiscoverOrg great to work for and keeps every day dynamic and rewarding. The environment is highly collaborative, brainstorming sessions are the norm, and good ideas/processes actually get implemented from employee input. i.e. your voice is actually meaningful, and does not fall on deaf ears. When you come to work every day, you can sense the growth potential and success around you, and you know you are part of something big. Is not the kind of place where you work for a year or two then move on to the next best thing, once you’re in, you don’t want to leave. Though somewhat picky in who they hire, it is because they are vested in your success and they have every notion you are here for the long haul. Bottom line - if you are looking to come work a 9-5, float by, and collect a paycheck - DiscoverOrg is not for you. If however, you are looking to be at the top of your game, get knocked down a peg only to get that much better, and got some fight in you, it’s a great place to work and grow.

Cons

Cons: The days are long, expectations are high and the work is plentiful, but you know what you're signing up for. At times it can be a bit frat-like, though it is rooted in the pride that the employees have for the company, and the competitive nature.

Pros

Over a 30+ year career, I've worked in very large companies, smaller ones like DiscoverOrg, several startups, and consulted to numerous others. Yet I'm enjoying this job more than any previous one. The CEO is great -- very positive, and a great motivator. The company has a high energy environment -- young not only in age but in general spirit. There's a feeling that that are great things to accomplish and things need to be done right away. There's little tolerance for laggards and coasters. The challenges ahead are clear, and so are the opportunities to contribute to the continued growth and success.

Cons

The location in Portland/Vancouver area is both a pro and a con. It's a great place to live and work, but it's a small pool for finding really good talent to hire.

Pros

Great people- VPs/ managers/ mostly a sales organization. Great product- market leader

Cons

Competitive market. Huge growth- or it least we've enjoyed huge growth. New execs. Trying to fix something that not broken. Record y/y growth, so WHY CHANGE compensation and sales plans??? You are just asking for turnover and you will break something that's not broken.
