Pros

I want to be transparent that I am less than a month in this role and org, and we all know how that goes with Glassdoor reviews, but having a background as an agency recruiter and working with hundreds of companies from seed to Series D - I absolutely know a great company when I see one! Let's start with the interview process- Short, sweet and to the point. There are no secrets or ambiguity. The salary, hybrid schedule and role expectations are laid out from your initial phone screen. The management provides excellent, detailed feedback and gives you pointers for your next interview to help you get the role. Mckenzie Griffin is the sales recruiter who got my foot in the door, and she brings an incredible energy to your phone screen as well as making the process completely seamless and transparent. The culture here is nearly perfect. Now, I think it requires a little bit of Kool-Aid consumption and learning to speak the language, but in my experience, that is sales. My onboarding experience so far has been interesting and very informative. I am joining this role with a bit of experience than most, and taking on a more advanced version of the role, so the training has been very entry-level and more like review, but I don't mind one bit. The training is robust, mostly VERY organized and has still challenged me. It is a blend of live training, self paced videos and exams, and 1:1 meetings with your team to get questions answered or shadow their day to day. Bonnie F has been an incredible resource in my onboarding experience. In the few weeks I have been here, I have seen announcements for over 40+ internal promotions going into the new year, and almost every VP, senior manager, director or manager I have met here, has started in exactly the role I am starting in. That alone is the reason I have taken what feels like a step back in my career, to make a leap forward. I am confident in my ability to grow with this company based on my own background and skillset, the company's internal growth track record and the world class training. In late 2022 I lost a lot of hope for my career and the job market, but the abundance of opportunity and growth ZoomInfo has to offer, has restored this in me. I only wish I'd started my career here much sooner.

Cons

I would like more product specific training prior to getting on the phones, especially being that I am not selling ZI's core offering, and most of my onboarding experience and training has been related to that product. I do feel that disengaged staff fly under the radar here for just a tad too long, looking at their performance, office attendance and hearing the overall attitude towards their job/the company. This doesn't impact my ability to do my role, but it does take away from the culture a bit and feels like a bummer to connect with people who I am excited to learn from, and then find that they kind of do the bare minimum. I was a little terrified of the sales culture at first, attending the first few trainings. I will say, many of the sales reps here give off SALES and BRO. I was worried I would be expected to communicate and behave the same way, but as I have become more acclimated, I have realized this is more of the inbound (Newbies) department who are using every last sales tactic they can to win an outbound promotion, so I don't blame them. I can tell I will likely not be challenged on my individual sales style being more of a relationship building approach than hard sales, and also being more of an "energy matcher" who meets prospects where they're at with communication. There are lots of women in this org who sell more like I do vs. the fresh college grad bro energy, and they have expressed to me that they enjoy being able to do their job as their authentic self, without being challenged by their leaders to change, so long as their performance is good. I appreciate this aspect SO much, being that I have always thrived doing things just a hair different than those around me, and with autonomy and support, I will perform better than most in doing things my own way.
