Horrible Sales Culture

Pros

Great sales training and some good managers that do care about your success. Free snacks and coffee in the office. Zoominfo SalesOS truly is a best-in-class product.

Cons

Absolutely no work-life balance requiring 55-60 hour weeks bare minimum for success. This is a sales organization that churns and burns through employees at a faster rate than any company I've worked for in the past. Many of the things promised during the interview process were completely untrue and felt like a bait and switch from the get-go (ex. offered a higher base salary, and upon quitting my job, they retracted my offer and offered me the same role at a lower base salary). They will constantly pressure you to work more hours and to work on vacations that you had planned months prior. The sales tactics they prefer resemble that of a used car salesman, than being in tech sales.

Thanks for sharing your experience as an employee of our Sales org. We win because we innovate quickly and never slow down yet every day we strive to be 1% better. And because we want to hear from our employees and understand what they need to thrive at ZI, we recently launched the ZI Voice employee engagement survey. We will use the insights and trends to continue improving our employee experience.

Pros

Product, that's it. Nothing else.

Cons

Its a shame how this company manages since they truly have a great product. Everyone is totally micromanaged here. Company was great before DO acquired ZI. As soon as DO took over, culture completely changed. Day one, CEO took away the game room (which is not a big deal), probably to save money and for the employees to constantly be working but that foreshadowed everything. It got to the point where Directors are reading your emails you are sending out to clients to touch base for a meeting. Writing feedback on the weekends so you get notified about it. So you're stressed on the weekends. All calls are also being listened into. "Coaching" is always negative even when your numbers are good and you're leading the team. The work you put in is never enough and you never felt appreciated. Or at least thats how they make you feel and when promotions come around the corner, they will bump you to the next tier with no bonus or even discussion for that matter. You will never be approached with a conversation about the "promotion". The "promotion" is essentially more work with no increase of pay. Or you have to fight them on more money and even that, its a tiny percent. Making no difference. "Unlimited" PTO is basically not a thing. I took 10 days off to go to Europe. First big trip I've been on since I've started working there 4 years ago. Upon my return I was told why did that time off get approved and not even asked once how my trip was but "I hope you prepared yourself for this month". Employees only stay until their shares get vested and then get the hell out of there. Company is a revolving door. They are consistently hiring and firing. Overall, it is a completely toxic company. Its a true shame.

Thanks for spending the time to leave a review. We are sorry to hear that your experience was not a positive one. Our culture is fast-paced and yes it’s demanding but we are making great strides in our learning and developing offerings to ensure our employees thrive and can find a great work-life balance. Also, we offer targeted learning programs for our managers to continue to grow their skills in giving feedback and coaching. We are constantly evaluating the organization, ensuring that we have the right people in the right roles to drive our long-term growth and success. And while we have made difficult decisions regarding our reductions, we still continue hiring in key parts of the company, mainly in sales, while we look to drive efficiencies around the organization. Good luck in your next career endeavor!

Pros

Accurate data and exceptional software make this company a household name. If you're fortunate enough (or new to the company), you may enjoy some easy wins from inbound opportunities. However, due to market saturation, the economy, and other factors, the pace of such victories has significantly slowed down.

Cons

Where do I begin? Initially, you might feel like a valued asset, but that sentiment can quickly change. In reality, you're merely reduced to a number within the company. If you fail to meet the quota for two consecutive months (~1000K/month), you'll be put on a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) without delay, and the flow of leads will gradually dwindle. The management team lacks proper training and fails to provide any meaningful support. Their responses usually consist of empty phrases like 'you got this' or 'you need to do better,' offering no practical assistance. The base pay for Account Executives (AEs) is dishearteningly low, particularly if you start as a Sales Development Representative (SDR) and work your way up. The work environment is incredibly stressful, compounded by unethical sales tactics. If I were in your shoes, I would strongly consider exploring other opportunities elsewhere
