A Company that Lost Its Way

Pros

Well paying. Remote (for now). Some great people in the organization.

Cons

Nepotism throughout the company's management. CEO makes statements that are not backed up by the actions of his executive group. Lost site of what they used to be good at. Not great at supporting their clients' needs/wishes, due to: Poor development structure and support for current software Lack of care of the Client's perspective. New software projects are often hurried, and never see production. Company has sued former employees in the past. Lack of diversity in Executive Leadership. Lack of farsightedness when making emotionally charged decisions at the executive meeting level.

It is a job. There are some very talented people who work at Zotec.

Cons

This is a family-run business that has not scaled its business very well over the years. Internal family politics holds this place back from being a stellar business. Internally unstable with infighting, dead-end decision-making, poor business planning, and a panicked retreat from metrics. Be prepared for a short, confusing, and frustrating stay or a mid-length career marred by political maneuvering and backstabbing. A lot of people get hired and then dropped after 6 months as there was no real role or senior leader(s) change their mind (happens all the time).

Decent pay but that understaff and over work all the employees…

Cons

They don’t manage well, the first sign of economic change (reimbursement cut and current clients that fire us (all the time)) they have a layoff!
