I'm thankful for ICE!

Pros

When the employment market was still struggling in 2011 after the recession, I found myself out of work for several months, trying to survive on unemployment checks and my savings. Even with 10 years experience in Recruiting, it was tough to find a job at that time because if companies weren't hiring, they certainly did not need to hire any recruiters! I noticed ICE was looking for a temporary call-center recruiter for the summer of 2011 and I immediately applied, as I had prior experience recruiting for call-centers in the hospitality industry. After a phone and in-person interview, I got a call a few days later from my new boss offering me the position. During my first week on the job, my boss stressed to me that while this was a temp job, if I worked hard and brought some value to the company, there was a small chance ICE could bring me aboard permanently, but there were no guarantees of that. ICE is a company that is growing and expanding the global brand, and fortunately, this growth led to me being offered a permanent position a few months later, which I am still employed in over 3 years later. I'm thankful that I was given an initial chance to succeed and I remain thankful that years later, my contribution to the company is appreciated and I have established myself as a valuable member of the ICE family. While you may see reviews on here that are negative, what I've learned at ICE is if you work hard, be accountable, stay positive, and appreciate your opportunities---you can have real success here, where it's in sales or corporate departments. We've got a gorgeous building, fantastic amenities for the employees including awesome travel discounts. I can get my shirts dry cleaned at our concierge desk, I eat a fresh breakfast burrito every morning from our cafe, I hit the gym sometimes after work, and I work with a group of people that are friendly, happy, and motivated to succeed. Isn't that what everyone wants from their employer?

Cons

No company is perfect. If you're looking for reasons to criticize, I'm sure you can find some. But if you are looking for opportunities to succeed and grow, that's what you'll get. It's really up to you.

Pros

Lively atmosphere with co-workers, very nice people to work with on the floor

Cons

Poor management practices. You must constantly check your payroll check. Beware, when you sign on your hourly rate is $20.31 in training then after three months your hourly rate will go to $10.00 per hour with commissions; it seems unethical to me. The outbound dialer is notoriously slow. This was an everyday occurence where I waited 6 to 7 minutes in between calls in a sales position and the dialer would stalk a person 3 or 4 times within a day. They need to update their dialer system and it seems that the bum calls would be routed to certain persons.
