Forward-thinking, problem-solving, remote-first company with an awesome product
Pros
Truly remote-first culture of fully open communication which facilitates and promotes questioning of any decisions that are made by anyone if they aren't clear. The company has been built from the ground up to be remote so I've never ever felt like an outsider and always have access to everything I need. The ability to have open discussions to ensure that we're doing things in the best way we possibly can. We are solving hard problems and creating things that don't exist anywhere else; it's not always easy but very rewarding. Our CEO has a clear vision of the direction in which the company should head, it's awesome to work somewhere where we know what we want to do, and the team has the freedom to use their individual skillsets to help achieve that wherever they feel they can offer the most value. The architecture is thought out and designed with the entire company as one organisation in mind (the way it should be), to make sure all projects and services are integrated where possible. Flat hierarchy means that you have the freedom to take ownership of the things that matter to you most; if you want to drive a particular thing forward you can take the initiative and feel supported. Guidance is always available if needed. I'm surrounded every day by countless talented people who are all outstanding at what they do. It feels like the whole team is in a big ship and we're all rowing in the same direction to build something great.
Cons
All the people I love working with every day are scattered around the world and I only get to see most of them in person once a year, but the benefits of remote working far outweigh the cons for me.
