Pros

- Generous discount if you love the product! - Family-like atmosphere; a "we're all in this together" feel. I've made some amazing friendships with some of my coworkers. I can genuinely say that I enjoy everyone I work with. - Growth as a makeup artist. Even though I was into makeup before taking this job, my skills have grown tremendously in the time that I have worked at bare escentuals. As a makeup junkie, I'm proud to say this! - Gratis...not as great as other brands, but at least it's something.

Cons

- Lack of recognition: Months back, the company took away the recognition program where a list was printed showing those in the company that made their month, which they tracked by your sales per hour. You received a certificate if you hit the company standard sales per hour. When they sacked that, power was given to the district managers to come up with a recognition program of their own. We were told we would recieve bare escentuals branded items, such as pens, mugs, totes, ect. in addition to other things. have. not. seen. it. at. all. What we have gotten are berating e-mails and calls from my district manager running off numbers that make no sense in the scheme of things. numbers. numbers. numbers...that's all you're good for at this company. - Expectations for the compensation given: I'm a great seller. I've made my sometimes realistic goals month after month. I "stepped up" when my store went through a mass exodus of seasoned employees (should've been my cue there). What I recieved? A mild "thank you for your hard work and dedication." from my district manager. How about thanks in another way...a raise maybe?! or a cash bonus? I'm underpaid for my position anyway (which I didn't know until I started doing my research). Something has to give! I know district managers make bonus when their region makes a said plan, but why doesn't that trickle down to the employees that have to deal with rude, entitiled, abusive customers first hand? We're not asking for a lot! How do you think it makes us feel when we're being told to work harder for nothing, when our competitors make a livable base and commision doing the same thing? What's our motivation? - Lack of work/life balance: Even though as a Keyholder I'm considered "management" (don't get me started on this one...) My position is still part time in the company. I understand scheduling to the needs of the business, however I don't want to be scheduled more than 32 hours a week. I get so much nonsense from upper management when trying to take time off. If you're going to be scheduling me for 35+ hours a week, then I want a raise and full time benefits. If not, don't ride my behind about it. This is not my career. I'm not looking to grow with this company. This is my in transition job until i get my "big kid" job. Nothing more.

Pros

Lots of free products to try. Many training days in London, fully paid for.

Cons

Unrealistic sales targets. Far too sales driven, more concerned on how much money they are making instead of their employees welfare.

Pros

Products were great and cruelty free Really liked the values

Cons

Bare minerals used to be a great brand with a lot of promise and a strong future, until Shiseido started changing things, discontinuing great products, made cuts to the brand and then sold it to Orveon, who has since then well and truly ruined it. Shiseido did Bare dirty in the awful commission structure and ridiculous targets - Orveon kept this structure in place but made even more cuts everywhere else! Lack of care and support from upper management- they don’t want to hear the negatives impacting business, force you to sell alternative shades/products that just won’t work for the customer. When I occasionally visit my old counter so much has gone downhill and there is next to no advertising of the brand, yet still high targets and same old stock issues. Gratis is just non existent and you had to put up with having the old discontinued things they couldn’t get rid of An absolute shame because I remember how fun and natural the brand used to be before Shiseido butchered it and now Orveon finished it off
