Pros

Good benefits, PTO/Paid Sick Days. WFH. Customers can bind policies online. No weekends.

Cons

Upper management only seems interested in serving themselves, Selfish, egotistical, passive aggressive management, does not accept constructive criticism, you will be punished if you mention something that should/could change to make the customer experience or company itself better. Slack used as an ego stroke for management or sales people instead of a communication tool. Upper management continues to push a poorly priced product (Comm Auto) with a slow/out of date application system that hardly functions 90 percent of the time and takes a large chunk of your day to work on, and then complains over passive aggressive emails about abandoned calls. Uses 3rd party lead generation services, 90 percent of which do not foster eligible customers for biBERK's UW appetite, Team leads and supervisors who sit on their hands all day long, some disappear for hours on end, will not answer questions over Slack, only refer you to knowledge articles that are difficult to find in the CRM. Pre-sales team that only seems interested in doing the least amount of work possible to correctly vet leads either dialed out for or calling in. No call-flow. They are not licensed agents. Consistently sending sales customers asking for products not on offer by biBERK, or sending contradictory emails to customers who've been previously declined, saying they are now eligible if they call us, which in turn creates more work and calls for customer we cannot assist, which adds to the abandon rate while we deal with the ineligible customers. Pre-sales team apart of biBERK and they do not help agents with the kind of lousy "work" they do. Middle management bloat, most of which refuses to chip in when the queue gets full because they know the calls are not good. Impossible incentives to reach, which incentivizes illegal practices to reach goals. No extensions for agents, you may end up playing secretary for a few days during the sales month for other agents, which is beyond frustrating. Double standards, tenured agents allowed to perform illegal practices, break rules set by management while never getting punished. Hired a temp agency for sales agents, whose pay scale incentivized stealing from direct, hired on agents, and they kept the temp agency instead of moving on. training for new agents is poor. They found a job market full of senior agents and decided they no longer needed to train agents correctly, leading to a lot of cleaning up for the senior agents and angry customers. $25 bucks per policy if you sell, multiplies the more policies you sell. No percentage payouts for larger commercial auto accounts. QA is subjective and impossible to pass. QA metric is offering customers lines of business they do not need, as well as most of the QA is done backwards/after the fact. Will be punished if you move a customer on to 3rd party brokerage and do not offer them pointless lines of business they are not looking for if customers' need is not available. Incompetent, borderline moronic service team who keeps customers on long hold times, and when they cannot handle the hot call, they cold transfer it onto new business sales, with no explanation. Company does not communicate within itself, pay structure changes, UW changes, Technology changes for the worse at a moments notice, knee jerk changes from upper management that are self serving. Agents pulled into meeting in Q4 2023, told by the sales director that we are overpaid, and that they were doing us a favor, and offering a higher base, which breakeven with past pay structure, so they could lure agents from other job markets in higher living cost areas, while barely giving current agents raises and applauding good performance, or adequacy. No career opportunities unless you want to be in middle management, and even then you must be friends, or acquainted with upper management, they created unneeded positions for people of little importance. Upper management lacks accountability and will blame the moneymakers (sales) for their shortcomings instead of accepting criticism and making changes to the structure of the business or who they work with outside of the company. Middle management seems to gave fat cat syndrome and does not want to step on any toes. This used to be a good company to work for, but now its just a stressful day, day in and day out.

Remote work if not in Omaha, NE Hybrid or in office for most. You get a Base Salary and Commission

Cons

Low base pay and commission Expensive benefits Disorganized Dishonest and unethical organization Favoritism Poor Leadership/Management Poor working systems Not tech forward multiple manual outdated processes to complete basic tasks. No upward movement only favorites are promoted to Leadership roles. The longer this company stays open the worse it will get.

Pros

The pay is not bad, but there are no other redeeming pros for this company.

Cons

Disorganized from the top down. Computer systems are antiquated; workloads are ridiculous; PTO is not competitive with what other carriers are offering; no real choice of benefits with only one type being offered.
