Pros

People, but all the good ones have left or are leaving

Cons

The CEO - he is heartless! Lay off week before Xmass! Benefits have been slowly stripped out with zero advanced warning and buyouts of 2 months + 2025 bonus to those employees not committed to the company. BEWARE

We’re sorry to read that this is how your time at commercetools feels in hindsight. Over the past year, we’ve made decisions to align the company more closely with where our customers and the market are headed. Those decisions were thoughtful and tied to long-term priorities. They were not reflections of individual loyalty or commitment, and we would never characterize colleagues that way. On benefits, one single program was adjusted based on significantly lower usage than originally anticipated. It was not removed, and it remains available today in a modified form. We continue to review our offerings regularly to make sure that they are meaningful, sustainable, and aligned with how employees are actually using them. We remain focused on building a durable company with a clear strategy and investing in the people who are doing the work every day. We appreciate you sharing your perspective and wish you the best moving forward.

Cons

Intense Sales Pressure: The sales pressure within the company is immense, with unrealistic targets and expectations that can severely impact one's work-life balance and overall well-being. Lack of Market Understanding: The management's lack of understanding of the market situation can hinder employees' ability to thrive and adapt to the dynamic business environment effectively. Treatment of Employees: The company's approach towards some sales workforce employees, including communication and overall treatment, often falls short, leading to feelings of undervaluation and a toxic work culture.
